Amy & Andzik- Real Wedding
Real Wedding- Outdoor wedding at home
This one’s because we all need some colour in our lives right now
What do you do when you are a couple who don’t really want a traditional wedding and you secretly run off to get married. You host an epic party for all your friends and family instead!
England met Latvia in Amy & Andzik's relaxed home wedding celebrations. Bold and vivacious tones with bohemian vibes in the glorious sunshine for a fun filled, vodka infused event. Secretly married a few months ago Amy & Andzik decided they wanted a relaxed party with family and close friends to celebrate their love at the very first place they met- Amy's parents farm.
Although they wanted very much to stick to a celebration vibe than a wedding they incorporated “weddingy touches” for their guests so their guests felt like they had been a part of their special day.
With Language barriers between their Latvian and English guests Amy & Andzik wanted everyone to feel included. They arranged for Latvian traditions to happen where every guest had the option to make a toast to the couple alongside lots of vodka shots. Amy also chose to make a speech and the menu contained a variety of vegan and vegetarian options. With pets welcome, it made for a fun filled happy celebration.
A love for nature and having a relaxed atmosphere meant that flowers made up the majority of the decoration. Clashing bright colours were chosen as were seasonal blooms such as peonies and stocks. Foliage was foraged from Amy's parents farm and contained everything from ivy, apple and willow to achieve a full and textured look. Sprigs of Rosemary for the men and lavender for the ladies adorned the place settings creating the dreamiest of scents inside the tipi.
Guests sat underneath a beautiful hoop decorated with an abundance of foliage and popping with vibrant blooms. Glancing up while it gently twirled and twinkled in a canopy above they were treated to delicious dishes created by Vaughn’s Kitchen. The whole day was captured beautifully by Stephanie Dreams photography who did an amazing job of going unnoticed while she shot the important conversations, embraces and antics. Homemade pom poms added more colour to the bohemian decor and signs painted on rustic crates directed the guests seamlessly through the day to the early hours of the morning where guests sat on hay bales around fire pits cooking marshmallows while making toasts in both English and Latvian."
