Gemma and Alex- Real Wedding

Gemma and Alex celebrated their beautiful wedding at Syrencot on the hottest day of last year, which happened to be in September! Despite enduring a miserable, wet summer, I vividly recall Gemma's final consultation where she expressed her hope for dry weather. I joked that we would be ok for September since the weather always seems to improve once the kids are back in school, but neither of us anticipated just how scorching it would be.

I love meeting couples who are eager to create a wedding that truly reflects their personalities. Gemma was one of those brides who had a clear vision for her special day. She shared mood board images that she loved but also emphasized that she wanted a unique twist that couldn’t be found online.

The talented Lynn Shapiro Photography beautifully captured all of Gemma’s wedding moments. Her modern, editorial, romantic style greatly influenced Gemma's décor choices. The overall design aimed for a modern, luxe boho vibe—no pampas grass in sight. We wanted to evoke the feeling of being in a Tuscan vineyard, so we incorporated lots of textures like olive branches and bleached Ruscus to achieve that Italian, yet boho feel. Blousey Crysanthemum vienna, Dusky Roses and Brownie Lisianthus created the Autumn feel while touches of Campanula Cosmos and gypsophelia pushed the luxe modern vibe.

For the Farmshed, we embraced a minimalistic styling approach for the tables, highlighting a stunning focal backdrop for the couple's wedding breakfast photos and speeches—a strategy I believe works best. The modern look was enhanced by trestle tables adorned with simple dusky pink runners, bud vases and olive foliage arranged down the center. The couple's backdrop featured an arch with a neon sign, complemented by re-purposed meadow and ceremony table flowers, creating a breathtaking setting to start their newly married life.
